I first interviewed Dave in November last year; and my phone screwed up recording it, so we hooked up again just before Christmas to have another chat, and this is how it went.

I’m going to start with a bit of a generic question to start; which artists inspire you?

When I was little, I can distinctly remember Kirk Douglas portraying Vincent van Gogh, and just really picking up on the fact that this was a guy who did his own thing and absolutely loved portraying everything around him, and that really struck a cord with me; his philosophy about why he makes what he made is very similar to my ethos; I don’t really make anything for any other reason that I need to say something.
One of my all time favourite paintings is Wham by Roy Lichenstein; obviously he’s an incredibly famous pop artist, and as a little boy, seeing that plane in flames, the fact that it’s a static moment; it’s quite desperate and horrific - the colours and everything about it was something that I really enjoyed and was attracted to.

I think that Takashi Murakami is one of the most important 20^th century painters; when you actually look at the work in the flesh they’re so flawless. That craftsmanship is very kin to the Old Masters and I love that.

Tell me a little bit about Americana?It was something that I was toying with for a while in my mind, like all of the subjects that I’ve ever touched on, are things that I’ve got a deep connection to, or that has profoundly affected me when I was a kid, like watching Cowboy films and the iconography of the wild west; it’s Americana, it’s classic. In native America, the importance of animals is incredible, like with the Spirit Guide, so I tried to portray that importance by using 24 carat gold leaf and platinum leaf to symbolize their majesty.

Do you get the chance to check out current artist's work?

There was a time when I’d come into the studio, I’d have my cup of coffee, I’d trawl all the blogs, seeing who’s doing what, what’s going on, but now, I don’t actually look at anything any more. I’ve made a conscious decision that the only person’s work that is relevant to me is mine. I don’t mean that in an arrogant way, like, I read an interesting article with Lucien Freud; he said the same thing, I love and respect everybody else’s work but it’s pointless me looking at it, because it’s almost like a distraction in a way. I obviously know what’s going on, because we’re in that sort of society that this information is at our fingertips, in blogs, but I’ve just changed my habits.

In each city in the world, there are different accents and different dialects – do you think you can define certain artistic dialects according to cities?

I think street art has a very unique and transferrable appearance; whether it’s stencil, a transfer, or out and out graff writers. I think every city has their own facets of street artists. There are some great graff writers in Liverpool. I saw Style Wars when I was 14 and obviously thought I was going to try and be the next Skeme, but I only had two cans of paint from Halford’s and that isn’t really going to work really is it? I obviously still include a bit of spray paint in my work; it’s still a medium that I love to use but it’s like, I don’t do trains anymore, I don’t do murals any more, because I felt that what I was doing with oil, like it clicked, and I thought, this is my medium. I could basically communicate so much better my ideas with oil, and my kind of existence through it. I never sign my work, I just hope that people would see it and recognize that it’s mine. As soon as I connected with oil paint, at 16, that was my thing. Spray paint was a fantastic medium, I loved it, up to a point, but then your ideas develop and you develop and you progress, you learn more, and I just sort of left it.

How do you feel about Kidult, like with what he did on the Supreme shop or Hermes?

The world is a very strange place and without going too deep, brands and viral marketing, things are advertised in a way that you’d never think that the brand was behind it. I love his process, I find it very interesting, I love the paint application; it’s out and out f’cking graff. I feel sorry for the cleaner at Louis Vuitton; I saw a video clip of her rolling up, and nearly having a nervous breakdown, so I felt for her.

Let’s talk a little bit about collaborations with brands; obviously you’ve done quite a bit of work with Nike in the past, how has all that been?

I’m very honored when any kind of brand wants to work with you; like that’s a massive compliment and a real treat when somebody likes what you do and wants to embrace that. I’m pretty particular with who I work with, but if it’s not a brand I actually wear, or connect with, I wouldn’t do it. You know whether it’s Nike, Kid Robot, Coca Cola or whatever, it’s got to be something I connect with, and it’s a brand that I really respect, and there will be a challenge for me to execute.

Lennon or McCartney?

McCartney, hands down. I’d love to paint him, he’s got such a good spirit; he’s an amazing man. It’s funny though, but when I was at college, on the first day when you started, you were asked to pick a space, and that’s where you’d be for the next three years. You get to know the people around you who work at the college - anybody at art college has to have a lot of respect for the cleaners! On my last day, I was finishing up, and the cleaner who had been there for years, said to me, do you know who’s space this was? And it was John Lennon’s. I’d been at his old space for the last three years and I had no idea.

When you’re painting, do you kinda need peace, or do you listen to music?

Always music. I always have music on. I think, it’s that rhythm, the beat, like any kind of creative outlet, whether you’re a poet, a musician, a painter, there’s that energy. When your brain, your hand and your eye are connected, and you’re not thinking about anything, thinking about what you’re drawing or painting, that’s when the best kind of work is created. That’s something that music has always done for me. It’s normally like, gnarliest like drum and bass, or hip hop from 1992 to 2001, like I’m proper old school when it comes to music. But saying that, when I was doing Americana, I was listening to the music of an American composer called Aaron Copeland who produced the most incredible music, like if you were to hear a piece of music that sounded like it could be from a Cowboy film, he was the guy who really started that genre, and his music was amazing.

What would you say has been your most humbling moment?

In life; there’s been a few key moments in my life that have profoundly affected me, but you know what, any time I sell a piece of work, it’s a humbling moment. This is probably my most humbling moment: I received an email from a child, a little boy, who said, Mr White, I’m sorry to disturb you but I wanted to ask you a couple of questions about your work. This little lad had lost everything in Hurricane Katrina, like, everything. I was just like, ask me what you like! It’s like that kind of thing, that’s the best part; when you can help people, just even offer advice.

Typing this up made me remember how sound Dave is, and I'm not shagging ass here, but it's probably the most enjoyable interview I've ever done. So nice one!

Review: John Frieda Precision Foam Colour

A couple of weeks ago, I was contacted by John Frieda to do a review of a new hair dye - a Foam Colour Dye to be precise.

I've been meaning to colour my hair again since I dyed it a little darker at the beginning of October but because of Ombre'ing it in the Summer, the ends had gone a little gingery (no me gusta) so I was pretty happy when this offer came up.

I've been meaning to do a post on this for the past couple of weeks, but my head's been cabbaged with work, and Christmas plans, and I knew I was getting my hair blown when I got back to Liverpool, so it was the perfect time to do the post.

The mousse was super easy to apply; no mess at all, no crazy splashes all over the bathroom (there are a couple of spots on the bathroom wall that my flatmate questioned when I last did my hair) and super nice packaging too. Little bitta Drizzy there in the background.

And this is the outcome! I chose Medium Copper Brown, as I think that's what the closest to my hair would be, and I'm really happy with it.

I would advise ladies to use the foam mousse in future, it's really easy to use, and as I said, no mess.

Hello lovely people. I thought I'd do a little hots and nots; I've not written a lot recently so I thought I'd share some love.

Let's start off with the hots.

Vogue Magazine's Top 100 Fashion Online
So I was voted number 61 in the above list on Vogue Online. Bit of a mad one like, and my nickname over the past few days has been 61. It's also my new favourite number.

Nike Night
Last night was our work's Christmas party, and it was nothing but boss. Calvin Harris and Alex Metric were DJing which was pretty cool, and in general it was an amazing night. Last year's was good, but this year kicked last year's ass. Well done to the lovely lady who arranged it all. The theme was "You are Gold" so I wore a gold sequin skirt from Primey and a Kirsty Doyle black long sleeved top with shoulder pads. I bought some sweet black velvet wedges which made me about six foot tall but this morning my toes are still numb and my right foot is a bit delicate after taking a little tumble and last night being convinced that I'd broken it.

CHRISTMAS
I literally cannot contain my excitement to go home to Liverpool for Christmas. Being away from home for such a long time makes you appreciate it so much more. I've only been back home twice this year, so I'm super excited to go home, for like, two weeks. On Christmas day, me and la familia will be working in the Salvation Army Soup Kitchen, which should be good; something different, I guess, but most of all I'm looking forward to really "working as a team"(?) with my family.

Le Weather
This time last year, the snow was crazy. Like, blizzard crazy. I bought some Blazers and because they're boot-ish, I thought they'd be sound, but I actually just slipped around on their lack of grip. So this year, I found a pair of Lunarwood ACGs in Patta for 40euros, with pure grip on them to protect me from slipping and sliding, except this year, THERE IS NO FREAKIN SNOW. They're a good shoe like, but they're not the sexiest of silhouettes.

I think that's it for the NOTS; things are going pretty well at the moment.

Desperate Scousewives; My 5 cents.

A few months ago it was announced that there was going to be a reality TV series set in Liverpool, focussing on a small group of girls in Liverpool.

When I first read about it, I was shocked, excited and then terrified, thinking about what the show would be like; how would this eight part series portray the city that I'm so proud to say I'm from?

The trailer dropped a couple of weeks ago, and it didn't offend me too much, just a few cringeworthy moments, but so far so good.

The worst part for me was to hear swearing bleeped out. (Not because I love swearwords, just because I think it's completely unnecessary to any form of swearing in a trailer. Turns out that the girl who's swearing isn't actually from Liverpool. Cough. Cough.)

Last night was the first episode, and being in Amsterdam, the closest I could do to watching it was to refresh my newsfeed on Facebook and to follow the #desperatescousewives hashtag on Twitter.

The fact that I couldn't watch the show while everybody else was, was killing me; I felt inadequate. I write a Fashion Blog and I'm from Liverpool. I just had to watch this as soon as possible. In hindsight now I'm pretty glad I got to watch it alone, not taking anybody else's opinion into consideration, and I didn't have to do a real-time update every five minutes - it kind of gave me time to enjoy(?) it.

After the show finished, the Twitter storm died down, but one tweet in particular caught my eye.

So here I am now, firing my Scouse Wag apologist routine on all cylinders. (Sharp, I'm not sure if that's the right phrase? I've never heard that one myself.)

I've got to clear a few things up before we go any further. I wont be commenting on the cast members who aren't from Liverpool; it's not called Desperate Woolwives.

N.B I'm defo not commenting on Jaiden; he's f'cking vile and has a sweatier head than any of the girls did.

If I refer to "the Girls," it'll be about Jodie, Amanda, Chloe, Debbie and Gill. I've only watched it once and I know their names off by heart. Heavy.

I wasn't insane about the introduction; it reminded me a lot of Shameless when Frank is introducing the Chatsworth Estate. I hope that's not a reflection on the city?

But you know what?

I didn't have a massive problem with any of the show.

The biggest thing for me was how totally scripted it was. It was such a shame, because I think the girls have their own personalities, and without the heavy scripting, I think these might have shown through.

But I'm not here to write sh't about people on my Blog; I'm not Britain's Most Brutal Blogger. NOR A F'CKING WOOL.

I honestly think the biggest detriment to this TV show is the production of it. The scripting is cringeworthy, and very false. The casting of the boys hasn't worked for me; they aren't true Scouse lads at all. I know Danny is, and he seems quite sound but the others aren't Scouse enough. The producers have completely played on all Scouse Stereotypes which is a little predictable.

I need people to remember though that these people DO NOT represent the entire population of Liverpool. But at the same time, they don't NOT represent the entire population of Liverpool.

These girls do exist in this wonderful city of ours, and we can't pretend they don't.

My faves so far? Chloe seems completely harmless and very sweet. You can't say that Debbie isn't gorgeous and Jodie's out of her tree. In a good way of course.

I genuinely think this is a programme we'll warm to, if some of the heavily scripted shit could be diluted then this could actually be alright.

Let's see how next week's episode goes.

About a year ago now, I posted pictures of my apartment in Amsterdam, just after I'd moved in. It was a sweet lil studio along the Plantage Middenlaan (I can write that now I no longer live there) and I fell in love with it straight away.

Now, a year on, my lovely landlord (not being sarcastic there, he really was lovely) decided he wanted to move back in to the place, which meant I would have to look elsewhere for a new abode.

My friend found me a place, and I just moved in like two days ago, but wanted to share some photos of the new place with you. I fell in love with this place as soon as I saw it, so maybe I've got an easily opened heart.

I've been trawling interior design blogs and tumblrs, and using the Selby as my source of inspiration, so you'll be seeing lots of nice images of home-spiration.

Just a quick outfit post before I dash out.

I had this on today, but just changed my Destroyer for my grey blazer and my Converse for my new boots. Also swapped my rucksack for my Alexander Wang bag which you've seen a hundred times before.

I haven't done a full round in these shoes, but I've got a feeling I might have to put my Lunar innersoles in them to make them a bit more long lasting. Love the thick heel on them though; really beginning to get behind my choice.

The Show: Redefinition

Let's make this simple: I like fashion and I like technology.

So when I got sent some information about a fashion show that's taking place, specifically to combine fashion and technology, it sparked my interest and made me want to read on a little more and find out exactly what was taking place. I've written articles on the evolution of digital fashion before, when I studied Journalism, so it's interesting to see how things have developed over the past couple of years.
The Show: Definition is a fashion show, showcasing Autumn/Winter trends for 2011 at the Bullring in Birmingham, mixing real-life and holographic models, to "blur the boundaries between reality and illusion."

This kind of thing is absolutely amazing, and if you've seen anything similar to this before, it's so difficult to differentiate real-life models from the life-like holograms. It really is incredible to watch. The things people can create with technology is amazing; augmented reality is crazy cool, and so so clever.

I've never heard of anything like this going on within the UK, but the Bullring is the most visited shopping centre within the UK, so it's not overly surprising that this would be the first place for this to happen in.

Wasted Heroes FA/HO 11

Last week, I was sent a couple of t-shirts by Russell, who owns Liverpool based graphics company, Wasted Heroes, who I've actually bought from before, and been speaking to since about 2009.

He sent me the Eagle print tee, and the Paranoid tee to try out, and see what I thought of them.

I was super happy with the Eagle tee, hence the photos, and the fact that I have worn it twice in two weeks. It's a really nice relaxed fit, and the combed cotton t-shirt is amazing quality. It's a bit odd because even though it's not fitted, the shape is actually really flattering.

I haven't taken a photo in the Paranoid tee yet, because it's cropped, so I'm trying to work out a way to photograph it in the most flattering way for me. My friend tried it on, who is pretty teeny tiny, and it looked amazing on her; I wish she took a photo in it for me. Grr.

The print is amazing; check it out.

I'm not a pure hype head but there's nothing more I like to see, than street on the runway.

Jason Wu has collaborated with KAWs for his Spring '12 Collection, specifically by designing the fabric.

Check out the print and look clearly at the detail. It's absolutely beautiful.

Look at the blouse Karlie is wearing n the bottom image; I haven't been impressed by a textile since Miu Miu's swallow print a few years ago, and in my mind, even though I'm comparing apples to oranges, Wu has absolutely kicked their ass.

Hope you're all well?

These past couple of weeks have been a bit chocka. I've had people visiting most weekends which has been rather nice; it's cool to show people from home where you live in your new little life, where you eat, where you drink. You feel almost proud of your new city and want to show it off; it isn't all green and red in Amsterdam contrary to popular belief.

I've got some other news. I have a new job, which is a huge relief. My internship here is due to end at the end of August, and the perfect job came up three weeks ago. Otherwise I would have been flying back on a KLM City Hopper to Liverpool, which wouldn't be the worst thing in the world, but it would also mean not living in Amsterdam anymore and not working where I work.

So the next few days for me consists of trawling Craigslist and Amsterdam Estate Agents to try and find myself a new abode, preferably in De Pijp or Jordaan. I'm not sure if you've looked for somewhere to live in Amsterdam before, but believe me, it aint easy. And it sure as hell aint cheap.

I'll probably have a few tears in my eyes when I have to hand the keys over to my apartment. It's so beautiful - I'll really miss it.

On a lighter note, my parents are here for the next few days, and they've brought my gorgeous little girlies to come and see me.

I'm sure you've seen them all before, but if not, here they are again. Lola on the left, Coco on the right.

I've got to know him over twitter, and he's a super nice guy - next time I'm back in Liverpool we're hopefully going to get an interview sorted out.

My uniform of 2010 is back; white oversized combed cotton tee and black skinny jeans is my outfit for the day.

I've got these shoes on I bought a few weeks back from H&M; I'm still undecided if I'm going to keep them on all day but heels surely do seem to elongate my cankles.

My hair is in a bit of a slump at the moment - I dyed auburn over my ombre, but it's already fading at the ends. The cut is none-existant and the ends are split from blow-drying the sh't out of it. I've been using a serum but the smell is kinda sickly; it reminds me of the smell of the cranberry powder sachets girls have to mix with water when they have a water infection.

I'm quite skeptical about PR emails; you all know the gist, no "Hello," a copied and pasted press release, a completely generic "I like your blog and feel you fit the company" and THAT FREAKING DESIGNER UMBRELLA COMPANY THAT EMAIL ME EVERY MONTH ASKING ME TO WRITE ABOUT THEIR UMBRELLAS.

Seriously, designer umbrellas? I buy €3 brollies from the tourist shops along the Kalverstaat.

Anyway, last week I got a rather lovely email from Anastasia of Beverley Hills, telling me about their company and new products they are releasing.

One of the products they specifically mentioned was the Beauty Express Brow Kit.

Brow. Kit.

Boom; attention grabbed.

I kind of live by the rule, love me, love my eyebrows.

I visited their site, and it turns out, they actually specialize in eyebrows; Anastasia does the brows of Kim Kardashian and Megan Fox. Eyebrows are what they're known for. Hello match made in heaven.

On their website, they have 33 products specifically for eyebrows.

Thirty. Three.

I'll be getting the Brow Kit, which I'm super excited to try. I usually use a dark pencil, or a brown eyeshadow, so it'll be nice to try something a bit more fun, and something I can experiment with.

I spent the last couple of days in Domburg, which is a teeny tiny town in the South West of Holland, right near to the Belgian border.

We went especially because there was a Nike 6.0 Full Moon Party, complete with amazing food, a film screening and night surfing.

I've never surfed before, and before yesterday, I never realised how difficult it would be. It's a million times harder than skating. It was still super fun, and I'd definitely want to try again. Despite my worries, wet-suits aren't as scary as I anticipated, and the water was surprisingly warm.

Domburg was absolutely beautiful, and me and the girls definitely want to go back again - it's only about two hours away from Amsterdam, so we have no excuse. I slept the whole way back, and hilariously woke myself up from snoring.

Review - Jergens Naturals

If you work in Marketing, you know, along with the rest of the world, that Social Media is the way forward in connecting with the consumer.

I was contacted by Jergens Naturals and I checked out their Facebook page and was really impressed by the community they've built, really encouraging conversation amongst their fans. It doesn't matter how many fans you've got, it's all about the people getting involved, responding to questions, and talking to each other. This is reflected in the amount of fans; over 10,000 is a pretty nice number, so no worries on that part.

They told me about a current campaign they have running, a tab on their Facebook page called "Feel Fantastic"which is designed to identify the areas of your life that might need a little help with fantastic-ness.

You have to rate elements in your life on a scale of one to ten; things like, family (obvz a 10 for that one), friends, love life, money, health etc, and taa-daa, your fantastic-o-meter is created.

Here's my little graph; as you can see, I have recreation covered. I'm happy with my love life (single and happy) but a couple of elements I need to work on are money and health. As much as I've come to terms with being epileptic and I wouldn't change it if I had the option (it's part of who I am now) there are things I'd like to change, like my skin; I'm 23 now, give me a freakin break, and not a break-out. Ew that was cheesy.

To boost my wellbeing, this morning I've been having a little R&R, to make my Saturday morning fantastic; fresh coffee, Sex and the City, Harry Potter. It's a nice way of spending a rainy Dutch day after a busy week. Perfect.

I was sent some body moisturiser - Aloe with Cucumber, and have been using it every night since I received it. It really is lovely. It's not greasy, which I find can be a pain with a lot of moisturising creams, especially when you're about to bed - you don't want it all over your bed sheets and PJ's. It doesn't take a long time to soak in, and smells really fresh, not overpowering at all.

It's made up of 94% natural ingredients, which doesn't actually matter to me; I've been using perfumed moisturisers for years, but I know a lot of people love stuff natural products, so it's an added bonus, and I'd consider only using products like this again.

The Toxteth Riots - Thirty Years On.

I can't talk too much about this; I don't know a lot about it at all, it's just a part of Liverpool's history I've grown up hearing about.

It's difficult to blog about this without sounding like I'm glamourising it, but you need to understand that I'm really not. You all know how I love Liverpool, but this is just a moment in our history to reflect upon.

I just wanted to include something on the blog to do with this; I've been listening to reports on Radio Merseyside over the past couple of days, and I've been reading a lot on it; it's bizarrely fascinating.

The photo below, technically, is amazing. Like, look properly at it. It's boss. I selected a few photos, from The Guardian website but I just decided to use only one; this was the one that made the most impact on me.

Toxteth is a beautiful area of Liverpool. Have you ever cycled down Princes Avenue on the way into town, with the warm sun breaking through the leaves of the trees? It's the most amazing feeling. A lot of shit went down there, but it's just something to look back on and to make us appreciate what we have here now - the culture, the people, the vibrancy of the neighbourhood is amazing.

Shit happened - we know that, but things are better now. We might not be perfect, but what city is?

Amsterdamn AM Skate Contest

I dragged my tired ass out on Sunday to get on the ferry to Amsterdam Noord to watch the final of the Amsterdamn AM Skate Contest. It was the first time I've ever watched a skate contest live, and I freakin' loved it.

It seems that nowadays I describe everything as having a good vibe, but this event definitely had a good vibe to it.

I've been tweeting for months that I want a skateboard, but haven't actually got round to buying one. Really I need to stop moaning and do something about it.

There were a couple of guys in particular caught my eye who I steamed off and if you've got me on Facey, you might have seen an influx of photos of of one particular guy who really was a bit disgusting, but him being a skater makes him 300 times fitter.

Sorry to go back 8 years, but I've still got a soft spot for skaters. What is it that makes them so fit?!

I could possibly only be in Amsterdam until the end of August, which terrifies me. I know I have to absolutely smash the next two months, and going to things like this remind me how much I love this city, and for the time being, I'm far from being finished with it.

Hots and Nots for June

I'm going to start off with a big NOT. I'm finding it more and more difficult to find the time to blog, and I'm really missing writing - whether it's journalism or just fluffy words I write down here, or scribbles in my diary, it seems I'm having too much fun to write. Which I guess isn't a bad thing.

Ok, so now a HOT. This is a geeky/cringey hot. I have been watching countless episodes of Dawson's Creek for about three weeks now, and I have no idea why, but what's even more scary, is that I have no idea how to stop.

Another HOT, stock is coming in thick and fast for the IRONIC FASHION online store. However, Buying/Collecting/Photographing/Writing Up items is a ball ache. An enjoyable ball ache, but still a ball ache. I'm hoping I'll have the store up by mid-July, but we'll just have to see how everything goes.

NOT - The rain in Amsterdam has been hilariously bad. I nearly didn't go out on Saturday night because of it. Last week, I cycled in the rain, and got so soaked I had to cycle back home to get dry clothes to take to work. Takes le piss. But it just makes us appreciate the sun even more.

HOT - Tie-Dye and Ink Print scarves. I posted a couple of pictures of my Indian Silk Scarf which I recovered from a box in my room in Liverpool, and ever since, I've been getting a little obsessed with tie-dye scarves, and I'm not even a major accessories head. I bought two in Waterlooplein Market on Saturday, for 1 Euro each. Can't complain.

HOT - Sportswear Supper Club. Over the past six weeks or so, a group of us have each taken it in turn hosting dinner on a Wednesday night, and we all chip in cooking a delicious dinner and an even more delicious dessert. It's called the Sportswear Supper Club, because we all kinda work in Sportswear; it makes sense, yah?

Another HOT! The Chicago Social Club, in Leidseplein. It's freakin' lovely. Such a good vibe to it; we were there over the weekend, getting down to 90s Hip Hop and some naughty Noughties RnB. It was boss. That was also where we spent Queen's Night, dancing to Wix, at the Clubwork Orange. I really do like it in there - possibly my favourite place to party in Amsterdam.

A Scouse HOT! Africa Oye was this weekend, and I'm insanely jealous I couldn't go to it. The first year I went, I rolled into Sefton Park after a heavy night of dancing in Chibuku, shoelessly I might add, and then danced in the sun to African music while drinking Red Stripe. It's seriously one of the highlights of the past three Summers for me, and I hope whoever went enjoyed it.

It's the Amsterdam Roots Festival this upcoming weekend, and I'm hoping that it is going to have a similar kind of vibe. I've been spreading the word about it, but truth be told, I've no forking clue what it's going to be like. Fingers crossed for beautiful weather, beautiful sounds and beautiful people.

I really am loving life at the moment; there's nothing like cycling along the canals after work, listening to Common or Erykah Badu, or even cycling home in the morning after a night of dancing.

Amsterdam, I love you.

HOLLA.

I'm delighted to have the privilege to say that I am currently sitting on my sofa at home in Liverpool.

I came back to England on Thursday to go and visit my little mate Bethany as it was her birthday.

We did a licka bitta shoppin', a licka bicka partyin', and a lotta eatin' soul food and drinkin' rum.

Nah in all seriousness though we went to this restaurant in Camden called Guanabana, who do amazing Caribbean food; I ate jerk chicken, refried beans, peas and rice and it was amazing. I'd seriously recommend the place. You take your own booze-a-looze and just buy "Mocktails" of like non-alcoholic Mojitos and then just bring your own Sailor Jerry's. I'm not a big drinker so two Mojitios was enough for me.

I have funny feelings towards London. In short, it's not the city for me. I'm nobody to criticize somewhere where 7.7 million people have chosen to live, but coming from Amsterdam which only has about 780,000 people in the little village that it is, which takes 15 minutes to get from one end of the Overtoom to Waterlooplein (long tings) it's a big difference with somewhere that takes half an hour to to go three stops on the tube.

Anyway.

I've got Nowhere Boy on while I type this, which I absolutely adore, and get a bit of a tingle when I see places that I know; John Lennon grew up in the same part of Liverpool I'm from, and there's also a clip where John's walking through town, and it shows the street sign for Saint Bride Street, and for any of you who have been reading the blog for a couple of years, it started off as being called Little Saint Bride, named after the street and tying it in with my surname.

Anyway. I have to say, the relationship between John and Julia freakin' freaks me out. I don't know how similar that was to real life; I know it must have been pretty devastating when he had to go and live with Mimi but devastation does not really justify closeness of their kind.

That said, I absolutely steam off Aaron Johnson.

So I got back to Liverpool and I've been spending a lot of time with my little Mum and my Brother, which has been an absolute dream.

I also went to see the Hangover 2 with little Adam Mac, which I thought was boss, but obviously the same storyline as the first, but you're lying to yourself if you didn't like it. The best part is at the end with the credits when they're looking through the photos - Bradley Cooper is always amazing in those.

I'm going to do a little best of the web post in a minute, just thought I better write some words.

If you've seen any of my tweets recently, you may well have read that IRONIC FASHION is launching an online store, to run parallel to the Blog.

Think about the things I've featured over the past couple of years, the style vibe that I try to portray; street-wear chic, a less-agressive Chola girl but still a licka-bicka Scouse, all rolled in to one red-headed fashion blog.

Death Cab are one of my favourite bands; they take me back to when I first passed my driving test, listening to Soul Meets Body, driving round Liverpool like a boss.

I saw them at Benicassim way back in 2008 and they were amazing.

I still listen to them now; Soul Meets Body and I'll Follow You Into The Dark are two of my favourite songs of all time.

However, re: Home is a Fire, I think I prefer the song title to the actual song.

EDIT: 20 minutes later and three plays on, I'm bang into it.

1:06 is where it really kicks in, but I'm excited to see what else they've got to give in Codes and Keys.

I'd like to think that this Blog is a part of my identity; along with being epileptic and having red hair, it's part of who I am.

Sometimes I take it for granted, and leave it to its own devices, and put it to the back of my mind.

I'm trying to resuscitate it at the moment, I don't want it getting too stale.

Today, the following things made me happy:

Talking to my Mum and my Brother - he just got back from touring in L.A so it's pretty nice to hear from him.

Eating frozen cherries and drinking tea while uploading pictures to the Blog.

Listening to Jolene by Dolly Parton, on repeat.

Drinking rose beer on the canal next to the Entre Pot Dok near to my place.

The smell of the rain on the hot floor.

Life is good.

Odd Future at Paradiso

There's no escaping how shit these photos are but I had to put something on the blog to say I'd actually seen these kids live. They're playing in Melkweg at the end of June, and I'd advise all you Dutch cats who missed out on the Paradiso show to check them out there.

I found this kid's tumblr and wasn't at all surprised he'd had Hodgy and Tyler reblogging his shit, his photos are so f'cking dope; I've taken one of his pictures and got it as my desktop.

Really though; his photos are that good.
