These tones are a bit too pale for my skin tone, but on beautiful sunkissed skin, I think the outfit could look pretty fly.

Colour Blocking

I don't tend to feature many trends on the blog, but I kinda love colour blocking.

I know, I know, black isn't exactly colour blocking, but it wouldn't be a proper outfit without blacksessories.

Stussy Tee and Janoskis

Holla.

I've been determined to get my act together and do some proper outfit posts, but I find it terribly difficult to look nice on photos so me and Jack have had a bit of a long morning trying to get decent images of me.

The Stussy tee is a recent purchase of mine from Precinct 5, and the Janoskis were a birthday present from a friend at work. The jeans are Acne and are high waisted but the tee looked sh't tucked in.

I'm not exactly breaking fashion's bollocks with this, but this is the kind of vibe of my day-to-day outfits; t-shirts and trainers.

Simples.

Coming Soon...

If you've seen any of my tweets recently, you may well have read that IRONIC FASHION is launching an online store, to run parallel to the Blog.

Think about the things I've featured over the past couple of years, the style vibe that I try to portray; street-wear chic, a less-agressive Chola girl but still a licka-bicka Scouse, all rolled in to one red-headed fashion blog.

We're starting off with our own branded accessories, and the odd few (that was weird typing odd f and then not writing future) apparel items.

Who knows where it'll go, it's a nicer approach to selling your sh't than eBay, right?

Give me a shout if you are a brand and you'd maybe like to have a little think about us being a stockist for you - laurenjanemcbride@gmail.com or twitter.com/LAURENMCBRIDE or infact, while I'm chatting on I set up twitter.com/IRONIC_FASHION solely to promote le blog and le store. (I've only got 2 followers - sly tymz.)

Also, a little disclaimer, all of the product shots so far have been taken on PhotoBooth. Yes, that's right, that hilarious feature you use for three hours when you first get your Mac but then you soon get bored of it. Anyway, doing it that way, all the pictures are the same size, plus, I prefer to do outfit posts on here using PhotoBooth. So, consistency, me gustaaaaaa.

IF isn't launching just yet, but I thought I'd give you all a heads up!

Much love,

Death Cab For Cutie - Home is a Fire

Death Cab are one of my favourite bands; they take me back to when I first passed my driving test, listening to Soul Meets Body, driving round Liverpool like a boss.

I saw them at Benicassim way back in 2008 and they were amazing.

I still listen to them now; Soul Meets Body and I'll Follow You Into The Dark are two of my favourite songs of all time.

However, re: Home is a Fire, I think I prefer the song title to the actual song.

EDIT: 20 minutes later and three plays on, I'm bang into it.

1:06 is where it really kicks in, but I'm excited to see what else they've got to give in Codes and Keys.

I'd like to think that this Blog is a part of my identity; along with being epileptic and having red hair, it's part of who I am.

Sometimes I take it for granted, and leave it to its own devices, and put it to the back of my mind.

I'm trying to resuscitate it at the moment, I don't want it getting too stale.

Today, the following things made me happy:

Talking to my Mum and my Brother - he just got back from touring in L.A so it's pretty nice to hear from him.

Eating frozen cherries and drinking tea while uploading pictures to the Blog.

Listening to Jolene by Dolly Parton, on repeat.

Drinking rose beer on the canal next to the Entre Pot Dok near to my place.

The smell of the rain on the hot floor.

Life is good.

Odd Future at Paradiso

There's no escaping how shit these photos are but I had to put something on the blog to say I'd actually seen these kids live. They're playing in Melkweg at the end of June, and I'd advise all you Dutch cats who missed out on the Paradiso show to check them out there.

I found this kid's tumblr and wasn't at all surprised he'd had Hodgy and Tyler reblogging his shit, his photos are so f'cking dope; I've taken one of his pictures and got it as my desktop.

Really though; his photos are that good.
